NATS' GARY GAIT HONORED FOR INDOOR SUCCESS

(Hamilton, January 23)... Hamilton Nationals Assistant Coach Gary Gait will be honored Saturday for his professional indoor career in Denver. Gait, widely regarded as the greatest lacrosse player of all-time, has been named to the Colorado Mammoth's All-Decade Team.
Gait was named the NLL’s most valuable player in five straight seasons from 1995-1999, and captured his final league MVP award (his 6th) in the Mammoth’s inaugural season in 2003 when he set a then-single-season record for goals with 61. He is second all-time in NLL history in goals (635) and points (1,165), and led Colorado to the Champion’s Cup as head coach in 2006.
“It’s going to be a great experience to see all these guys again that have done so much for the game and for the Mammoth,” said Gait.
The All-Decade Team features four defensemen, three forwards, two transition players and one goaltender. All 10 players will attend the Mammoth game this Saturday, January 28, and are scheduled to sign autographs during pre- and post-game sessions. The halftime ceremony will pay tribute to the team in a special, on-field presentation.
Gait enters his second season as the assistant coach in Hamilton. In his first season, he helped return the Nats to the playoffs and a earn a berth in the MLL Championship Game. The Nationals will open the 2012 season against the Denver Outlaws, on Saturday, May 5th at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Hamilton makes its home debut on Friday, May 18th with an 11:00 a.m. contest against the Chesapeake Bayhawks at Ron Joyce Stadium at McMaster University.
