(June 13, 2012)… The Hamilton Nationals will face a huge test on Saturday, June 16th at Navy-Marine Corps
Memorial Stadium. The Nationals will battle the first-place Chesapeake Bayhawks at 7:00 p.m. in Annapolis, Md. The game is the fourth road game of the season for Hamilton, who opens the season with five of its first seven games away from the “Steel City.” The contest will be broadcast on www.herbfm.com. The game will also be televised live on ESPN3.com.
Scouting the Nationals: Hamilton is riding a two-game winning streak after beginning the season 0-3 and has moved into a tie for fifth place. In its last game, Hamilton used career nights from Stephen Keogh and David Earl to defeat the Rochester Rattlers 17-8 at McMaster University. Keogh had a career-high six points (3+3) and Earl had a career-best five points (3+2). Rookie Joe Resetarits also scored his first two pro goals in his second MLL game. It was contribution by committee in the team’s second straight victory with nine players scoring for the Nationals. Brett Queener earned the win in goal, while recently activated Brent Herbst saw his first action in the final seven minutes.
Player Moves: The Hamilton Nationals made seven player moves this week. The Nats activated Rhys Duch and Roman Lao-Gosney, and placed Dan Coates, Kiel Matisz and Dana Wilber on the Practice Squad. Hamilton also waived Matt Chadderdon and Brandon Spillett.
Nationals Players Win World Championship: Cody Jamieson, Joe Walters and Stephen Keogh were members of the National Lacrosse League Champion Rochester Knighthawks. The Knighthawks defeated the Edmonton Rush 9-6 on May 19th.
